Password problems


If you're a long term Outlook user, you will no doubt have come across this Windows Security dialog before? If you haven't don't worry but it will often be displayed whenever Outlook is having a problem accessing your remote Email account.


The important point here is it can be misleading and it's easy to think that you need to re-type your password. Although you can safely do this, if you're sure that you have the correct password, it is best to just acknowledge this by pressing the 'OK' button. If it appears more than 2 or 3 times and you're confident there are no connectivity issues, this is the time to contact your IT Administrator.  


The most likely scenario is that your email service is experiencing a fault and this will normally be rectified given a short amount of time. If the problem is not urgent, just ignore the dialog or select 'Cancel' and try again in 10 minutes.
